Additional classes are offered on an irregular basis and have included topics such as Montana history, foreign language instruction, and altered book art.

COMPUTER CLASSES:
MPL offers a computer lab dedicated to free computer training, including classes on basic computer and internet use, downloading and editing digital photos, and more. Seating is limited as we have only six computer stations available, so call for a spot today. For more information call 721-BOOK (2665).
Have an idea for a topic? Tell us what classes you would like to see offered. If you would like to volunteer to teach a class on a regular or occasional basis call Marje at 721-BOOK (2665).

APRIL
- 15th Intro to email 6:00-7:00 - Learn the basics of creating an email account, writing a message, including attachments, sending, and receiving messages.
- 17th Intro to email 12:30-1:30 - Learn the basics of creating an email account, writing a message, including attachments, sending, and receiving messages.
- 22nd/24th Internet searching 6:00-7:00 - How to use the internet to effectively find what you are looking for; includes security tips.
- 24th Come tweet with me 12:30-1:30 - An introduction to social media including twitter and some of the weblog applications.
- 29th Resumes 6:00-7:00 - We’ll teach you the basics of how to create a resume using our databases and basic templates to make formatting easy. Bring details (names/dates/contact information, etc.) on education, training and previous jobs so that you can get a start on a resume.
MAY
- 1st EXCEL – 12:30-1:30 - An introduction to the basic features of Microsoft Excel, a spreadsheet program designed for the Windows environment. Topics include: entering data & formulas and assumes the student has some experience with Windows and using a mouse.
- 1st Computer Fundamentals – 6:00-7:00 - Learn about the parts of the computer (hardware), how to turn it on and off; managing your desktop and how to open programs. No experience necessary.
- 4th Resume Workshop – 10:00 - 12:00 - We’ll teach you the basics of how to create a resume using our databases and basic templates to make formatting easy. Bring details (names/dates/contact information, etc.) on education, training and previous jobs so that you can get a start on a resume.
- 6th/8th Word Basics – 6:00-7:00 - An introduction to word processing including how to create a document, manipulate the text and font, use templates and a few fun tricks.
- 7th How to use my Kindle - 4:00-5:00 - This class is designed for users with new devices and would just like to learn the basics of use. Attendees should bring their device and all cords that came with it.
- 8th Easy steps to eBooks – 12:30-1:30 - This class is an introduction and overview of the eBook resources available at the library. The instructor will cover how to access the library’s collection. Attendees must have a basic knowledge of how to use their eReader. Attendees are encouraged to bring their eReaders and any cords if they have them.
- 13th/15th Intro to email – 6:00-7:00 - Learn the basics of creating an email account, writing a message, including attachments, sending, and receiving messages.
- 15th Facebook, I’m a beginner – 12:30-1:30 - Become familiar with social networking sites such as Facebook, how to set up an account. This class is for those who do not have an account or are brand new to Facebook.
- 20th/22nd Internet searching – 6:00-7:00 - How to use the internet to effectively find what you are looking for; includes security tips.
- 22nd Facebook, now what? – 12:30-1:30 - Become familiar with Facebook; for those that have accounts but need to become more familiar with their settings and how to use it. Not for those that need to set up accounts.
- 29th Cloud Computing - 12:30-1:30 - What is Cloud Computing? Why should I use it? How do I do it?
- 29th Craig’s List- what and how – 6:00-7:00 - What is it? How do I use it? How do I avoid getting ripped off? Learn how to protect your privacy while using this popular online yard sale tool.
